Wood is temporary. More than ever<\/h2><\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_column_text]Off course teak is a wonderful material. No question. However, today\u2019s plantation timber with few but highly visible woodgrain only has a natural durability of 3 (as per DIN-EN 350-2) which, at worst, equates to the quality of a European larch.<\/p>\n

By comparison, pine has a quality of 3-4 as is only slightly worse.
\nIn the southern latitudes teak, like any other timber, suffers from high ultraviolet light stress. Even standing woodgrain rings won\u2019t act as protection against the destructive force of the sun. Once the deck has thinned and the plugs reveal the screws, the time has come to contemplate a refit.<\/p>\n

Due to the fusing of the individual synthetic planks a large, homogeneous and water tight surface is created which is both hard-wearing and skid-proof.
